Filming Location Shots - Explained

Here are some example shots below of the filming location, Chandler and Dunn Farm, which is being used in the opening sequence of 'When We Wake'. The coloured shot is of the woods which we are planning to film in. The reason I have chosen to use this shot is to show how the use of the natural light from the sun seeping through the tops of the trees helps towards building the atmosphere we are trying to achieve within our filming. Having not entirely full light contributes to the idea of fearing the unknown due to not being able to see everything clearly.

Moreover, I wanted to show how the colours of the settings are autumnal and give a better visual effect to the overall cinematography of the short film; moss greens, tree bark browns and amber/light brown leaves on the ground add to the feeling of the characters being outdoors as these are colours and objects that you would see when in the outdoors.

Whereas, within the black and white shot, I wanted to show the surrounding environment we are working in as well as see what the film cinematography could look like with a black and white effect.
